Using Myspace as a Marketing Tool
Hi Everyone!
We wanted to share with all you blog readers out there, a little helpful knowledge that we share with my clients every day.
As I am sure most of you know, Social Networks are to the Internet what reality shows are to TV. Meaning they are popping up every where, each day there is a new one. And they are addicting, as much as you want to protest, you eventually begin to like them.
One of the leading, if not the most popular social networking site is Myspace. We have all heard of it, but most think it is a place for the teenie boppers to gossip about high school and when they are meeting at the mall. If you have this image in your head, you are correct. This sort of thing definitely takes place on Myspace.
However, what a lot of people don't realize is Myspace is a marketing playground! Where else can you collect a full gathering of your target audience into a nicely packaged little group called "Friends"?
Business owners, musicians, photographers, etc are realizing there is an infinite amount of potential by having a professional Myspace page. For instance, you are a business owner. You own a flower shop in providence Rhode Island. You want to get more customers to know of your store and you also ship out flowers for events.
Even if you have a website, that is a wonderful start, without a website you are losing out on 50% of potential business. But a Myspace page can be used in conjunction with your website in multiple ways, including link building for search engines, and driving traffic to your website right from Myspace.
Think about it, in order for someone to find your website on the Internet, they would have to go to a search engine, Google, Yahoo, and type in keys words such as Flower shop. How many results do you think will turn up?
Try it... Go to google and type flower shop. These are the results: Results 1-10 of about 8,870,000 for flower shop.
So what if you are ranked number 6,563,000?? Will anyone ever be able to find you on the Internet, or know your flower shop exists?
With Myspace, you immediately put yourself in front of your potential clients, and make them aware you are there. You can keep them informed of what you can offer them while still being "friends" on Myspace. Not only will your new "friends" see you, but their friends will now see you, and their friends, and theirs. Its a snow ball effect all in your favor!
How can I get my Myspace campaign rolling?
Step 1: Create a Myspace account, its FREE
Step 2: Customize your profile so that it reflects your business, colors, logo, services, etc. (If you do not know how to do this, send us an email and we can help you. Our email is indulgentbeautydesigns@gmail.com)
Step 3: Figure out your target audience. (In the case of the flower shop, you would want to target, women, events pages, Providence RI or anywhere because you deliver.)
Step 4: Add friends from your target audience to your Myspace profile.
Step 5: Once you build up your network of friends who are interested in your services, you constantly have them at your figure tips. You do not need to look for them or have them look for you. So keep them informed by sending out messages, comments. bulletins and blogs, to turn your friends into customers.
There are a number of other tactics to create a boat load of traffic, as well as using other social platforms. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email and we can talk with you about more ideas!!
